Watermarks are both easy and super fabulous to have when you want to tag your product!
I am going to walk you through a very basic step-by-step tutorial of how to make one. We are going to pretend that my company is Purple Elephant Plumbing....it is not...but I like purple and I like elephants, so let's go with it :)
Step 1: After you have designed and created your logo or watermark, you will want to make sure that your color format is RGB (if it is CMYK, you will not be able to save in the right format). In order to do this, go to "Image" on your top tool bar, and select "Mode" from the drop down menu. There should be an arrow to the side for options then simply select RGB if there is not already a check mark next to it.
Step 2: Make sure that you click on the "eye" image that is next to your background layer in your layers panel on the right side of the screen. This will hide your background layer. It should appear as a white and grey checker background once this is done.
Step 3: Next, you will want to go to "File" and select "Save As." Save your file image as a PNG. This will ensure that the background is transparent and can be placed over a picture or other background and not have a white box around it.
AND THAT IS IT! You now have a watermark that is transparent and ready to be used! Easy Peasy!
